Personal Data may be freely provided by the User or, in the case of Usage Data, collected automatically during the use of this Application.
Unless otherwise specified, all Data requested by this Application are mandatory. If the User refuses to provide them, it may be impossible for this Application to provide the Service. Where this Application indicates certain Data as optional, Users are free to refrain from communicating such Data, without this having any consequence on the availability of the Service or its operation.
Users who have doubts about which Data are mandatory are encouraged to contact the Controller.
Any use of Cookies - or other tracking tools - by this Application or by the owners of third-party services used by this Application is intended to provide the Service requested by the User, in addition to the other purposes described in this document and in the Cookie Policy.
The User assumes responsibility for the Personal Data of third parties obtained, published, or shared through this Application.
The Controller adopts appropriate security measures aimed at preventing unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, or destruction of Personal Data.
Processing is carried out using IT and/or telematic tools, with organizational methods and logics strictly related to the purposes indicated. In addition to the Controller, in some cases, other parties involved in the organization of this Application (administrative, sales, marketing, legal staff, system administrators) or external parties (such as third-party technical service providers, postal couriers, hosting providers, IT companies, communication agencies) may have access to the Data, and may also be appointed, if necessary, as Data Processors by the Controller. The updated list of Processors may always be requested from the Data Controller.

Unless otherwise stated in this document, Personal Data are processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose for which they were collected and may be stored for a longer period due to legal obligations or based on Users’ consent.
Medifast Srl processes users’ personal data exclusively to enable the operation of the digital platform, manage requests for home healthcare services, and connect users with healthcare professionals.
In particular, Medifast Srl processes identification and contact data and information necessary for booking and managing the services requested by users.
Medifast S.r.l. does not process or store clinical health data, such as reports, diagnoses, or detailed medical information, which are managed directly by healthcare professionals and partner laboratories.
Healthcare professionals (doctors and professionals) and partner laboratories act as independent data controllers with regard to the data processed in the provision of healthcare services and diagnostic tests, in compliance with applicable law.
Users’ personal data may be disclosed to healthcare professionals and partner laboratories to the extent necessary to provide the services requested through the platform.
Some data processed as part of the service may fall within the special categories of data under Art. 9 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Such data are not processed or stored by Medifast S.r.l., but are processed exclusively by healthcare professionals and partner laboratories, each acting as an independent data controller.

The Controller processes Personal Data relating to the User if one of the following conditions applies:
It is always possible to ask the Controller to clarify the specific legal basis for each processing operation and, in particular, to specify whether the processing is based on law, provided for by a contract, or necessary to enter into a contract.
Unless otherwise stated in this document, Personal Data are processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose for which they were collected and may be stored for a longer period due to legal obligations or based on Users’ consent.

Where Personal Data are processed in the public interest, in the exercise of official authority vested in the Controller, or to pursue a legitimate interest of the Controller, Users have the right to object to processing on grounds relating to their particular situation.
Users are informed that, where their Data are processed for direct marketing purposes, they may object to such processing at any time, free of charge and without providing any justification. If Users object to processing for direct marketing purposes, Personal Data will no longer be processed for such purposes. Any requests to exercise the User’s rights may be addressed to the Controller using the contact details provided in this document. The request is free of charge and the Controller will respond as soon as possible, in any case within one month, providing the User with all information required by law. Any rectifications, deletions, or restrictions of processing will be communicated by the Controller to each of the recipients, if any, to whom the Personal Data have been disclosed, unless this proves impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. The Controller will inform the User of such recipients if the User requests it.
The User’s Personal Data may be used by the Controller in court or in the preparatory stages of possible legal action for the defense against abuses in the use of this Application or related Services by the User.
The User declares to be aware that the Controller may be required to disclose the Data by order of public authorities.
At the User’s request, in addition to the information contained in this privacy policy, this Application may provide the User with additional and contextual notices regarding specific Services, or the collection and processing of Personal Data.
For operation and maintenance needs, this Application and any third-party services used by it may collect system logs, i.e., files that record interactions and may also contain Personal Data, such as the User’s IP address.

The Data Controller reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by notifying Users on this page and, if possible, within this Application and, where technically and legally feasible, by sending a notice to Users through one of the contact details in its possession. Personal data means any information that, directly or indirectly, also in connection with any other information, including a personal identification number, makes a natural person identified or identifiable.
These are the information collected automatically through this Application (including by third-party applications integrated into this Application), including: the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by the User who connects to this Application, the addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation, the time of the request, the method used to forward the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numeric code indicating the status of the response from the server (success, error, etc.), the country of origin, the characteristics of the browser and operating system used by the visitor, the various time-related details of the visit (for example the time spent on each page) and the details relating to the path followed within the Application, with particular reference to the sequence of pages consulted, to parameters relating to the operating system and to the User’s IT environment.
